'Together' is an essential element of our strategy and is expressed in a number of ways. Citizens, customers, shareholders and employees are well aware of the notion that our energy supply is a shared responsibility.

Sustainability can only be achieved together. That is why we involve citizens in the energy supply, for example by letting them participate as shareholders in wind farms such as De Windvogel wind farm on land and the Zeekracht wind farm at sea. More information about the projects can be found at the topic 'citizen cooperation projects'.

We also cooperate by participating in covenants and government initiatives. An important project that has significant impact on the Dutch economy is the construction of the new harbour complex Maasvlakte II for which we provide the energy infrastructure. Other examples are the Platform Sustainable The Hague, the foundation of the district heating company Delft and Sustainable Ameland. By developing projects with partners and by utilizing each other´s knowledge, expertise and contacts we can create economies of scale and thereby accelerate the sustainable generation of energy. During the past year we have entered into a participation agreement with KDE Energie for the joint development of wind projects in Great Britain, France and the Netherlands. In Belgium we are very successful in the field of biomass. With our partner Eco Projects, we build bio-fermentation installations at agricultural locations and together with Bio Energie Europa, we develop larger scale bio-fermentation installations for organisations in the industrial sector, such as L’Oreal in Libramont (Belgium).
