Profile Eneco

Eneco is an integrated energy company specialised in the production, trading, transmission and supply of gas, electricity and heat and related services.

With over 7.000 employees, the company serves two million business and domestic customers. That makes Eneco one of the top three energy companies in the Netherlands. The shares are held by 61 Dutch municipalities. The head office is located in Rotterdam.

Eneco was founded in 1995 from a merger of the energy companies of Rotterdam, The Hague and Dordrecht. In
the subsequent years, thirteen regional energy companies were added.

We want to be an example and a source of inspiration to others by demonstrating that a swift transition from fossil based to sustainable energy is technically possible and economically viable. Today and tomorrow.

Eneco increasingly aimes for international expansion. In Belgium we are a major supplier of sustainable electricity. Our focus on the local generation of sustainable energy has allowed us to evolve into a solid and fast growing supplier, with a top five position in the Belgian B2B market. Other countries in which we are realising our ambitions in the area of sustainable energy generation include Germany, France and the United Kingdom. On a global scale, we are also active in the trading of sustainable energy products and CO2 certificates.

Eneco stands for continuity of energy. Commitment, outspokenness, a proactive approach and sustainability. These values form the basis for carrying out our plan. They each represent the way we do things. As individuals and together as a company.

Committed is the emotion that drives us to stand for sustainability. Our commitment with society brings us closer to our customers. Together with them we provide tailor-made energy solutions. We also take responsibility in improving the way in which people use energy. Being committed also means that we ourselves actively contribute when it comes to 'sustainability'.

Outspoken is how we communicate our commitments. We are outspoken in our ambition. We dare to take a stand. We express our convictions. We dare to be open and honest and do not avoid clear choices. Choices for the partners we look for, the energy sources that we perceive to be truly sustainable and the employees that fit within the company. 

Decisive is how we implement sustainability. There lies the proof of our commitment. We especially differentiate ourselves by the manner in which we work on achieving a sustainable future. 'Actions speak louder than words': that is what characterises us. Where others tell stories about a better future, we simply get started.

The style of our communication is is always friendly and optimistic. That means that we don’t make problems any bigger or more threatening then they are, but discuss the solution in a pleasant manner. We want to reach people’s hearts through their minds.
