Management changes at Eneco

Rens Knegt appointed director of business unit New Energy. Ton Meijer director of Eneco International.

 

Rotterdam, 26 January 2009 - Effective as of 1 February, Rens Knegt (58) has been appointed director of the business unit New Energy. This task was previously performed by Ton Meijer (68), who is appointed director of the business unit International. Until now, Ton Meijer already acted as interim director of the business unit International in addition to his position as New Energy director.

Rens (L) Knegt's ample experience in the energy sector includes the position of substitute director general Energy at the ministry of Economic Affairs and that of director of Eneco's former business unit Business-to-Business. He currently holds the position of director Corporate Relations & Special Projects at Eneco.

Ton Meijer has been active at Eneco in various management positions since 2000. The appointment of Mr. Knegt as director New Energy allows Ton Meijer to better concentrate on Eneco's international activities.

Eneco New Energy focuses on the sustainable production of electricity and green gas, the production of electricity and heat using combined heat and power (CHP) systems and the supply of heat by means of district heating and heat pumps.

Eneco International is responsible for Eneco's energy supply outside the Netherlands and the development of a sustainable electricity production portfolio.
